Gastric Cancer Increases with Beer Consumption

Think that a few beers a day can’t kill you? Think again. If you consume just 2 beers a day, you run a 75% increased risk of suffering stomach cancer. Those who have a specific gene variant known as rs1230025 that do not drink, have a 30% greater chance than non-drinkers without the gene. However, someone with the variant that drinks = 700% increased likelihood of gastric cancer; all from something as small as a few beers.

What’s your chance of having the gene variant? According to researchers from the Oncology department at the Catalan Institute in Spain, 2 in 10 people are at risk.
