EMOTIONAL HEALING FROM LOSS: THE CORRELATION BETWEEN LOSS, GRIEF, ADDICTION, AND RECOVERY

Rev. Dr. Ted Wiard is a licensed professional clinical counselor, certified grief counselor, and ordained minister. He is the co-author of Witnessing Ted: The Journey to Potential through Grief and Loss. Ted is the founder and Director of Golden Willow Counseling, and Golden Willow Retreat Center (a non-profit emotional healing center focused on grief, loss, trauma, and recovery). He is also the clinical director for Rio Grande Alcohol and Drug Treatment Program and the program director of the Southwestern College Trauma, Grief, and Renewal Certificate.

Brandy Klingman is a licensed and skilled psychotherapist and has served as an expert in the field of mental health and substance abuse disorders for over 15 years. She currently serves as clinical supervisor and advisor to 5 different universities and over 10 different educational departments including Louisiana State University, University of New Orleans, and Southeastern Louisiana University’s graduates and doctoral departments. Her current titles included,CEO of St. Christopher’s Addiction Wellness, CEO of Legacy Behavioral Health, and CEO of Life Works. Ms. Klingman is a well-known mental healthcare speaker and consultant nationally and around the world.

Our CEU event will also feature a performance by Vista Taos’ treasured Grammy award winning flautist. Mr. Shendo will be leading us on a meditational journey with Native American musical accompaniment.
