Extended Care Program
The separate men’s and women’s extended care programs, Casa Feliz and Casa Vida, are designed to facilitate re-integration from primary care to the family and the workplace. The length of stay can vary from 1-12 months based on the needs of each client. The time at Casa Feliz or Casa Vida allows our clients to re-engage their interests and passions in a safe, sober environment.
Residents can enter the program after they have completed our 4-6 week primary treatment program or a similar intervention during which they have established 4-6 weeks of sobriety. Ongoing therapeutic support, daily structure, and guided life skills help residents learn to live a sober life.
Our men’s and women’s programs include:
- Safe, structured living environment
- 24-hour staffing
- Work, volunteer, and education opportunities
- Individual therapy
- Group therapy
- Educational groups
- Therapeutic activities and outings
- 12-step meetings
- Family involvement
Our client-centered approach allows residents to take an active role in their recovery. Each client experiences how recovery works in real life contexts congruent with their own personal histories. Mentors and sponsors are available as guides through this process.
Living at Casa Feliz or Casa Vida allows our residents to be part of the vibrant recovery community in Taos. Casa Feliz is located in an historic home in the heart of Taos, one block from Taos Plaza. Casa Feliz is located in close proximity to all things Taos and has a peaceful and healing atmosphere. Taos is a remarkable community for recovery, spiritual awareness, and individual growth.
