Preparing For Your Stay

What to Bring:

Clothing:

  • Bring casual clothing, enough for seven days.  Laundry facilities are available and supplies are provided.
  • It is recommended that you bring comfortable clothing such as jeans, casual pants jogging suits, sweat shirts/pants, appropriate length shorts, skirts or casual dresses.
  • In the winter months, we suggest that you dress in layers, for example a warm outer layer, a sweater or middle layers and then a comfortable shirt rather than one big, heavy sweater.  You may also wish to pack gloves and a heavier coat to accommodate the winter weather.
  • Inappropriate clothing such as references to alcohol, drugs, sex, violence, etc., or suggestive deemed unsuitable by staff will not be permitted.
  • Flat-soled, comfortable shoes or sneakers are recommended.  You may choose to bring a pair of boots for recreational activities as well as sunglasses.
  • One piece bathing suits for women and swim trunks are required for hot tub use.

Other Items to Pack:

  • 30 day supply of personal items including: shampoo, toothpaste, razors
  • Prescription medications that you are taking in the originally labeled container(s).
  • Living Will or Healthcare  Power of Attorney
  • Medical Insurance Card

What NOT to Bring:

  • Over the counter medications, including herbal remedies and vitamins
  • Tank tops, short shorts, muscle shirts, or other inappropriate clothing items
  • CD Players, iPods/MP3 players, tape recorders or other electronic equipment including laptops and cameras
  • Cell phones and iPods brought with you during travel will be securely locked in the safe upon admission
  • Exercise equipment
  • Reading materials such as magazines, newspapers, novels, etc. are not permitted.  Books related to your treatment will be provided for you.
  • Musical instruments
  • Stuffed animals
  • Candy and snacks should not be brought to the center, all meals and snacks will be provided by our culinary staff
  • Smokeless tobacco, cigars, rolling tobacco or pipes
  • Illegal substances

Money:

We recommend that you bring approximately $200 of spending money, should you need additional toiletries during your stay, postage, etc.   You should also have the financial means available for additional services should they be needed or requested such as dental or medical clinic visits that require payment at time of appointment.  Your monies and/or credit cards and other valuables will be kept in the safe during your stay. 

We highly recommend that you not bring personal property including jewelry, cameras,  or other valuables.

Visitors:

Family members are welcome to visit on Sundays and Holidays with approval by the primary therapist from 1:00 pm to 5:00 p.m.  Patients are not permitted to have visitors the first weekend they are on campus.  Please refrain from bringing cell phones, magazines, newspapers, books, candy and/or snacks during visitations or during family week.    If you have any questions regarding this policy please let a staff member  know.

Telephone Access:

You may make four (4) personal telephone calls per week (the time limit is a maximum of 10 minutes per call).  Calls may only be made after therapeutic activities have concluded for the day (after 4:30 pm).  Please note, we do not accept incoming calls as this could potentially result in a breach of confidentiality – Federal Law CFR, Part 2B.  In the event of a family emergency, a message may be left at 1.800.245.8267.

Mail:

Patients may send and receive mail during their stay.  All packages must be opened in the presence of a staff member.  We recommend that you bring a supply of stamps and envelopes.
