Residential Alcohol & Drug Treatment Program
Vista Taos Renewal Center is a private, residential treatment program for adult men and women located in Taos, New Mexico, directly north of Santa Fe. Our program focuses on alcohol and drug treatment through a holistic approach to best meet the individual needs of each patient. Our smaller size allows us to provide truly personalized care within a spectacular setting.
The Primary Treatment Program at Vista Taos Renewal Center is committed to providing the best in educational approaches, talk therapy, acupuncture, psychodrama, yoga, massage and Rosen Method in addition to 12-step recovery meetings. Vista Taos also provides medical care supervised by our medical director who has been certified in addiction medicine. Our mission, philosophy and commitment is to provide exceptional, individualized care while utilizing the power of group process to achieve freedom from addiction while embracing the practice and principles of recovery.
Respecting the specific needs of our patients, the clinical team develops and implements individualized treatment plans. With the powerful dynamics of a group setting we address such critical issues as alcoholism and drug addictions, codependence, relationship addiction, other compulsive behaviors, childhood trauma, and depression. Utilizing a variety of educational and experiential techniques, group process and 12-step orientation; patients actively participate in a meaningful and comprehensive treatment experience.
Our intensive program at Vista Taos has been providing exceptional care since 1994. With an inspiring view of Taos Mountain and the Sangre de Cristo mountain range as our backyard, we utilize the richness of the northern New Mexico landscape in our curriculum. Responsive to the individual needs of our patients, we are sensitive to the spiritual aspects of recovery.
Our comprehensive schedule includes therapy groups, educational groups, experiential therapy such as psychodrama and outings in addition to the complementary therapies previously mentioned. We are committed to providing best practices along with customized interventions to provide our patients and their families with a depth of resources unmatched by any other facility.
A key element of Primary Treatment is the Family Program. Each patient is encouraged to invite family members to participate in this program which offers them an opportunity to participate in our dedicated week of groups, assignments, lectures and specialized sessions. The Family Program allows us to work with few patients and their families at a time in keeping with our commitment to individualized care.
As an additional healing modality, a weekly massage therapy session is included as part of the treatment program. The purpose of massage therapy is to lessen withdrawal symptoms, helping patients to reconnect with their bodies and increase overall well-being.
